Today’s the big day — the release of The Dark World! It’s my first hardcover release, and I’m so, so excited to share this book.

It’s hard to believe sometimes that I get to do this professionally. When I was a little kid, writing short stories and plays about ghosts (yes, even back then!), being an author just seemed like a pipe dream. So I want to give a big fat thank you to anyone and everyone who has read not just my book, but any YA book.

In honor of the book’s release, I wanted to share a quote about a certain demonslayer. Those who have read the book know whom I’m talking about 😉

The Dark World comes out in less than one week—and I am so thrilled to share this awesome review from Kirkus!

“Paige’s narration is delightfully funny—it’s not snarky for the sake of snark but genuinely witty.”

It’s always a little weird to share your own good reviews—there’s something very “Hey guys, look at me!” about it.

But a good review from Kirkus is something you want to hang on your fridge with your cutest magnet.

The full review is here, and you can preorder The Dark World here.

One of Brendan’s, ahem, naughtier quotes was requested on Instagram. Anyone remember what scene in Spellcaster this is from?

I’m doing something a little different with the playlist for The Dark World. With Spellbound and Spellcaster, the official playlists included songs that were tied to certain scenes—either the characters were listening to the songs at the time, or the song just reflected the overall mood of the scene.

With The Dark World, I’m still pairing scenes and songs. But I’m also picking songs that I think reflect the overall atmosphere and mood of the book. So with that in mind, here’s the first song I’m putting on The Dark World soundtrack: Paramore’s “Let the Flames Begin.”
